HARVEST HOME CONCERT
On Tuesday 13th September St Mary's Church Wirksworth, RYV presented a very special concert - themed to celebrate harvest in song, music and the spoken word, paying homage to the hard work involved to feed the people from the land and the sea, but not forgetting those in need here at home. We therefore asked our audience, and RYV members to bring donations for the Jigsaw Food Bank in either tinned and packet foods or cash which Jigsaw uses to buy fresh produce. The evening was a great success and we were not only overwhelmed by the generosity of the donors with their vast array of non-perishable foods, but we received some valuable cash donations too. So with those and proceeds from the concert, we were delighted to be able to donate £500 to Jigsaw as well. See the cheque presentation by our MD Lester Simpson to Sue Todd and Janet Morrison from Jigsaw is in the gallery below. Janet is also a longstanding choir member.

A night to remember ... August 7th 2022
RYV was invited to perform at the Bonsall Lantern Parade and Fireworks Event on the last night of their Festival 2022. We assembled at dusk then sang as as night fell. The parade was a magical de'light' ('scuse the pun) and the fireworks were magnificent - then we re-grouped to sing the final number from our programme, Sibelius's Song of Peace, to accompany the fire sculpture which died down to reveal the Dove of Peace ...
Thank you Bonsall - we were delighted to. be invited to participate in your splendid lantern parade and fireworks event.. what a spectacle it was to be sure. Such lovely designs and the dove was a masterpiece, burning up high behind us as we sang our final number, Song of Peace...
RYV at the Farmer's Market, Wirksworth, May 7th 2022
First RYV gig of the year!!! Great member turn out! We were so delighted to sing for our appreciative audience in the warm Spring weather. The town was buzzing with lots of smiling relaxed faces with people meeting up with friends while shopping in the sunshine. We all really enjoyed our first singing outing this year… For more pics click on the main Gallery above for the drop down menu.
