Our 2026 choir sessions began again on January 15th
RYV is a community choir in Wirksworth, formed in April 2009, purely for the joy of singing! We ring the changes from a selection of genres, mostly in four part harmony, offering a warm welcome to all, when good craic and camaraderie abounds!
We love to learn new songs but we also have many a soft spot for the tried and tested old favourites we fish out for fun!!.
We were delighted to have a visiting choir leader for the January sessions at Wellspring as usual.
We welcomed Sarah Matthews back to lead us until Lester's return in February and we all loved having her to teaches new songs and musical tips and titbits!.
Sarah is a professional folk musician and singer, playing the fiddle, viola, light percussion and tenor guitar. A composer, improviser, song-writer teacher, workshop-leader, dancer and teacher; she is passionate and enthusiastic, and enjoys sharing her music and singing with others.
Simply come along to Wirksworth Wellspring Meeting Space on most Thursday evenings from 7pm-9 pm. Weekly subs are £5 per person. No auditions, no experience necessary, BUT please contact us before you come so we can send you the song sheets to print off.
