a community choir in Wirksworth, Derbyshire
Our musical director is Lester Simpson, a man of great renown for his array of musical talents, as a singer, multi-instrumentalist, song writer and choir leader. He started this choir in 2009 and we still have some of the original members singing with us today!
He has infinite patience, a great sense of humour and many anecdotes to entertain us as we learn.
Our next concert is on Saturday 12th September in St Marys church. It is a FREE drop-in performance and all visitors are welcome to site where they like for all or just some of the event. There will be refreshments on sale from the church kitchen,

Simply come along to Wirksworth's Wellspring first floor space, where sessions are held on most Thursday evenings from 7pm-9 pm. Weekly subs are £5 pp.
No auditions, no experience necessary, BUT please contact us before you come so we can email you the song sheets to print of, or you can download them and follow from your iPad ...

RYV is a community mixed choir in Wirksworth, and exists purely for the joy of singing! We ring the changes from a selection of genres, mostly in four part harmony, offering a warm welcome to all, when good craic and camaraderie abounds!
We love to learn new songs but we also have many a soft spot for the tried and tested old favourites we fish out for fun!!.
